My Bio
Hello, my name is Don Champion, Sr. and welcome to my Personal Web-Site! I was born near Pittsburg, Kansas, raised in Oklahoma, and "grew up" as a World War II Veteran of Leyete Gulf, PI Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Aguni Shima, and countless others. After WW II, I received an honorable discharge and attended Colorado A&M for one year, then I transferred to the University of Florida for 3 years and received a BS degree in Forest Management. I spent one year in Georgia with forest fire control and then 12 years as a County Forester with the state of Florida and over 36 years as a private Professional Forester. This has been my biggest success as I competed with "free" government forestry services. I survived even after swimming with gators and "cotton-mouths," crossing waterways and swamps and walking with rattlesnakes in the flat-woods for over 50 years. My wonderful wife, Lorraine, our five children, and six grandchildren have made everything worthwhile. I am now retired and work as a self-employed consultant and in my spare time still enjoy organic gardening, hunting and fishing. I hope you have enjoyed my story and please check out the links at the bottom of the page.
