My Bio

Hi I’m Laura Lange and welcome to my personal website. My life started out in St. Louis, MO where I lived and graduated high school. Only eleven years ago I graduated from The College of the Ozarks at age 75. I was the oldest graduate in the history of the university. My deceased husband, Alfred and I, had three wonderful children. Both our daughters, Laura and Jean, are married, as well as our son Larry. I really like to write articles for the local paper and soon I hope to have a book finished for children and young teenagers. This has been tough though due to my impaired vision (20/40), but I’ve been getting it done and nothing has stopped me yet, not even my poor eyesight. Now I live in Nixa, MO were I teach at a local retirement home, where, in about fifteen years, I plan to reside myself. Thank you very much for checking out my website and have a great day!

I graduated from Beaumont High in St. Louis in 1936.

This is my first grandchild, Shannon.

In 1984, more grandkids started showing up.

Even more in '85.

Here are Lady and I outside the garage.

Here's Al standing in front of our first house in 1949.

This is our second home in Florissant, Missouri.

This is yet another home in Wentzville, MO.

This is the home I had built after my husband died.

Now I stay here.

This is the retirement home where I teach and plan to live in about 15 or so years.

I volunteered at a church south of St. Louis near the airport terminal.

All these items on the couch I made over a three year period.

Another hobby of mine was embroidery. Here's one that I cross-stiched on a burlap sack.

At Christmas time I made little houses to accompany the toy train set.

This is a side view of one of the houses I used to live in.

Grandpa Biggs getting ready to leave for a big a fishing trip.

I spent summers in Vicky, MO preserving Al's grandparents' log cabin.

This is Al all dressed up and decorated.

This is my home-based work station. The screen in the background is OPTELEC which helps me read.

Here's how I like to get around town - on my little red road Rascal.

Heading out to my mailbox that will probably be filled with important information from T.J.!

This is just a small tour of my house.

Posing with some of my grandchildren. This was taken about ten years ago.

All of this equipment and office also helped me get through college.

My best companion, Lady. She's 21 years old, a poodle/dachie mixed breed and is blind. She likes the comfort of a corner for her naps.
