My Bio
Hi and welcome to the Lee Sievers Personal Web-site. Lee here and I would like to tell you story. I graduated high school in 1932, and was given a 20 dollar bill and a cow. I used the 20 dollars to put a down payment on a truck and loaded the thing with apples to peddle in Denver, Colorado. On the way there, the engine overheated and cracked the head, so I was temporarily without transportation. On the highway where the truck broke down, I customized a cardboard sign to get peoples' attention and I sold all of the apples out of the bed of that truck before noon. I went home with 129 one dollar bills. Later I bought a milk route hauling supplies to cheese factories. The first day on the job I delivered 800 pounds of cream, 400 pound short of what was promised. The next day I talked with the owner about selling milk instead of cream. Within three weeks I had built the delivery load to 5000 lbs. a day. I gave this business to my brother Jack. My brother, Bill convinced me to to go California with him and he gave me a lot of ground for a down payment of commission sales in an appliance store. I talked with the banks that I wanted 10% of the value in the bank. I told them I had the cash and he loaned me the money for my first house. The realtor contacted me to sell the house for $1000 profit and that was my start in the constuction business, which lasted for more than 65 years. In 1936, I entered into a contest for the sale of most electric ranges, and I was one of 60 entries to make a voyage from San Diego to Ensenada, Mexico. In 1997 I was written up in Who’s Who in Executives, Congressional Award. Thank you for coming to my personal web-site and be sure to check out the links below.
