My Bio
Welcome to the Len Lovely Personal Web-site! After a wonderful childhood from which I did not graduate high school or go to college, I went into the army in 1940 but didn't go overseas. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1944 I moved to Florida to escape the New Hampshire cold. I worked odd jobs for several years and finally got a job with the Miami, Florida Tax Collectors office. I worked as a supervisor until 1969 when I took my retirement pay and went into business for myself. Wanting to do something for a living that I was familiar with and enjoyed, I decided to open my own stamp and coin collecting store in 1970. I did very well with the business except for 4 different break-ins that eventually drove me to move to Naples, which is located on the west coast of Florida in 1974. The villains would grab things and run before the police could respond to the alarms. As you can see, crime followed me. I ended up closing my store and traveling to coin and stamp shows at convention centers in the state. I have been doing this ever since. In July 1989, I married to Ruth. She became involved in my business and enjoyed it very much. However, due to complications during a surgery in March 2001, Ruth passed away on Dec. 17, 2003. I have been a member of the American Numismatic Assn. and The American Philatelic Society for more than 25 years, as well as the President of the Naples Coin Club, and the Collier County Stamp Club for the past ten years. I have also been a member of the Florida Stamp Dealers Assn. for 20 years. I hope you enjoy my personal web-site and check out the links at the bottom of the page.
